Application and use of hot dip galvanizing
The hot dip galvanizing process produces a durable zinc iron alloy coating on steel protecting it from corrosion. Steel Products that are normally hot dip galvanized are highway guardrail, crash barriers, transmission towers, street lighting poles, pressed steel water tanks, steel structures for chemical and power plants, parapet handrails, steel reinforcements for walls, steel fencing, gates, grills, and many other applications .

The Hot Dip Galvanizing Process
Fabricated steel products are carefully attached to a overhead lifting device in the hot dip galvanizing plant then dipped in a series of tanks filled with chemicals to remove surface contaminants such as dirt, paint, oil, grease and rust. The first chemical tank is a heated caustic solution followed by the hydrochloric acid pickling solution to remove mill scales and rust. The cleaned steel is then dipped into a heated Flux solution. Upon drying the article is then dipped into a pot of hot molten zinc. The final stage is to quench the hot dipped galvanized steel by dipping it into a final passivation solution.
